    I’ve always thought we need role = drink in the header. Developers who refuse to make things accessible could signal that we should just give up right there.

    You’re right. We need an http header for inaccessible. Problem is that would cover most of the web, but then Google could flag it.

    While I’m at it Google could make accessibility a ranking factor in search, and I mean actual accessibility, not just the few places where it intersects with SEO.
